Traveling for engagement sessions and weddings is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer. I recently traveled to Boston to capture an engagement session (stay tuned for that one soon!) and it reminded me of this dreamy day. Any day in my favorite city is amazing, but add in an incredible couple like Shannon and Will and it truly was magic. While I’m based in Minnesota, getting the chance to document love stories in places that feel new and inspiring always brings a fresh perspective to my work.

There’s something about New England that I love so much, especially in a city like Boston. The mix of historic charm, coastal textures, and quiet little corners tucked between bustling streets makes it such a dream setting for photos. Every turn feels like a new backdrop, and it pushes me creatively in the best way. Not to mention the amazing food stops along the way- can you say Cannolis in the North End? Okay, back to photography.

This session was the perfect blend of relaxed and intentional. We wandered through cobblestone streets, paused on charming stoops, and leaned into whatever moments naturally unfolded. That’s one of the biggest perks of traveling for sessions, everything feels a little more like an adventure and it shows in the finished product! There’s room to explore, slow down, and to let the story come together organically.

As much as I love shooting in Minneapolis (and I always will!), getting out and working in places like Boston reminds me how important it is to keep things fresh. Different light, different energy, and different scenery all plays a role in creating something unique for each couple. New England, you’ve definitely got a piece of my heart (and I will be back for another shoot this summer)!
