What’s In My Camera Bag

I thought today I would take you all behind the scenes and share what’s in my camera bag! I think it’s important to note that I’ve been photographing for over 10 years. There is no camera bag that sets the standard for the rest of the industry. You have to find out what works best for you! The one thing that I think IS important is having a camera with dual card slots. You don’t want to ever lose images or have a card corrupt!

Bag One: My Backpack

Since I started in the MN Photography world, I’ve been using the kamrette.com bag. I think it’s a decent bag that I can wear on my back, but what I like the most is the laptop pocket! I travel with my laptop always so I like that I can carry everything that I would need in one bag.

  • Two Nikon D850 bodies (I’ve shot with multiple cameras and this will always be my favorite)
  • Sigma 35mm 1.4
  • Nikon 58mm 1.4
  • Two Kiorafoto SD card cases, each holding 12 120gb SD cards
  • One XQD memory card case, holding 6 128gb SD cards
  • A lot of extra camera batteries (like 8 of them)
  • Altura cleaner kit
  • Mints, Tylenol, and a whole bunch of pens

Bag Two: Roller Bag

This is the bag I refer to as my “ceremony bag.” It has a lot of the tools I need for weddings, but I don’t take it with me to other types of sessions. It’s a big bag!

And there you have it! As a disclaimer, this is not all of the gear I have but this is the most consistent representation of what is in my bags. I own over 6 camera bodies including film and digital but I don’t have them with me always. In addition to these items I include my external hard drives, laptop, off camera lights, and entire styling kit as necessary items for by business.
As always, feel free to reach out to me via email if you are just getting started and want some tips! I offer mentorship sessions year round and would love to get to know you!
