When Rachel asked me if I wanted to tag along for her already planned styled shoot, of course I said yes! For those who aren’t familiar, a styled shoot is a chance for a bunch of vendors to work together and showcase their work. In the wedding industry this is huge! All of the vendors involved are masters at their craft. Generally they consist of one or two photographers, a florist, a venue / event space, and bridal shop. They can be as elaborate or simple as you want. When I saw the first mood board, I was in love!

Rachel had a very clear vision of what she wanted and as a result it came together seamlessly. I would recommend organizing or participating in a styled shoot to any photographer or vendor who is hoping to get a foot in the wedding door. It’s a wonderful opportunity to network, familiarize yourself with some fellow wedding creatives, and to get some beautiful content for your portfolio. Because you’re the one organizing it, it can be tailored directly to what YOU want!
