Some couples just make you feel comfortable the second you meet them, and that’s exactly how Emily and John are. They’re incredibly kind, easygoing, and so genuine with each other. This wedding day was such a dream, full of happy, authentic moments while also being filled with style!
They chose CafĂ© Lurcat in Minneapolis for their wedding, and it couldn’t have fit them more perfectly. For years, CafĂ© Lurcat was one of the Twin Cities’ most iconic restaurants and event spaces. Overlooking Loring Park, it was known for its incredible food, beautiful atmosphere, and classic charm. Lady Gaga even stopped in once, so you know it was an amazing choice fot a wedding. Sadly they have closed their doors, which makes me even more grateful I had the opportunity to capture a wedding there.
Emily looked absolutely stunning in her off-the-shoulder lace gown, and her bouquet was one of my favorite details from the day. The soft white flowers, delicate greenery, and whimsical blooms felt romantic without being overdone. It was the perfect complement to the timeless and chic feel of the venue. One of my favorite things about these two is how natural they are together. They don’t have to try to create moment, they were constantly laughing and smiling alongside their family and friends. Those are always the moments I love documenting most because they’re the ones that truly tell the story of a wedding day.
They included so many subtle and sweet details in their day- from custom coffee cups to use during getting ready to signature drinks inspired by the couple, the day felt so personal to them. Their decor and flowers fit perfectly with the vibes at Cafe Lurcat and made an already stunning space somehow even more elevated. Simply put, this was a 10/10 wedding!
Looking back through this gallery, I wish I could relive photographing this day all over. Emily and John made my job so easy because they were simply themselves all day long. It was such an honor to document this chapter of their story, and I’m so excited for everything that’s ahead for them. I think this wedding will always hold a special place in my heart, not just because of the beautiful venue, but because of the people. Emily and John are the kind of couple you can’t help but root for, and getting to preserve their day at such a beloved Minneapolis landmark made it even more special!
