Some wedding days are beautiful. Some wedding days are fun. Then there are wedding days like Bridget and Trew’s that somehow manage to be both while keeping everyone laughing from start to finish.

I had the pleasure of capturing Bridget and Trew’s wedding last summer at Wexford at Emerald Greens, and from the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be a memorable day. These two have a way of making everyone around them feel comfortable, and their natural chemistry was impossible to miss. Whether they were sharing a joke, sneaking a glance at each other, or cracking up during portraits, their joy was contagious.

One of my favorite things about Bridget and Trew was how effortlessly themselves they were throughout the entire day. They weren’t worried about perfection or putting on a show. They were focused on celebrating with their favorite people and soaking in every moment together. That genuine energy made photographing them such a dream. Every smile was real, every laugh was spontaneous, and every photo reflected exactly who they are as a couple.

Of course, every wedding day comes with a few surprises…

Right after the ceremony, a massive summer storm came through. Dark clouds rolled in, rain poured down, and for a moment it seemed like Mother Nature had other plans for the day. But if Bridget and Trew were concerned, they certainly didn’t show it. They took everything completely in stride, embracing the unexpected weather with the same easygoing attitude they carried all day long. Instead of letting the storm dampen the celebration, they leaned into the moment. Guests gathered together, conversations flowed, laughter continued, and the excitement of the day never skipped a beat. In many ways, the storm became part of the story, a reminder that the best wedding days aren’t the ones that go exactly according to plan, but the ones where you choose joy no matter what comes your way.

Once the rain passed, the celebration continued with an incredible evening filled with heartfelt toasts, packed dance floors, and plenty of laughter. It was clear how loved Bridget and Trew are by their family and friends, and watching everyone come together to celebrate their marriage was such an honor to witness.Their wedding at Wexford at Emerald Greens was the perfect blend of fun, resilience, and genuine connection. From unexpected summer storms to nonstop laughter, it was a day that perfectly reflected who they are as a couple. Here’s to many more fun weddings this summer… and hopefully great weather!
